 Finally finished.  This is an up close photo of the completed chimney.  The vent pictured is the intake vent for make up air for the heating appliance.  Beautiful mortar joints, if I do say so myself :-)

Firebox Construction Reading (part 3)

This picture shows the firebox construction in progress.  Here we see the side and back walls of the firebox just about complete.  The firebox floor is complete with ashdump door installed.  The fascade and hearth are still to be built.  For earlier progression photos click here  As always do check back for more progression pictures on this project.

Fireplace/Firebox Construction Mansfield (day 3 complete)

End of day three.  The firebox, facade and hearth are complete.  All that is left to do is apply the stone veneer to the facade and the bluestone atop the hearth. To see before the facade was complete  Check back to see the stone veneer complete, it looks amazing!!
